Cary recieved a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies, with a minor in Interdisciplinary Greek Studies from Youngstown State University and holds a Masters of Divinity from Harvard University’s Divinity School. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Duquesne University with concentrations in Moral Theology, American Catholicism and Black Catholic Studies. Cary also currently is a staff writer with the USCCB’s Ad Hoc Committee on Racism and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Continuing Education & Enrichment Program for the Institute of Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University, Louisiana.

Cary is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, father of six children and the grandfather of five grandchildren. He currently is a member of St. Agnes, Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Cleveland, Ohio and a member of St. Christine Parish in Youngstown, Ohio. Cary is also a proud member of the Knights of Peter Claver, an international Black Catholic fraternal service order.
