Christina Paone was appointed Vice President for Athletics and Athletic Director at Walsh University on January 3, 2025. In this role, she oversees the University’s Intercollegiate Athletics program, including the management of coaching and administrative personnel, the annual operating budget, sponsorship contract negotiations, fundraising, athletic facilities, and 27 intercollegiate athletic programs.
Committed to building a best-in-class athletics program, Paone works alongside her colleagues in the Athletic Department to ensure continued success and excellence across Walsh’s athletic offerings.
Additionally, Paone is responsible for ensuring compliance with Title IX regulations, managing game operations, media and athletic communications, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning programs.
An alumna of Walsh University, Paone has served the institution for more than 14 years in various roles. She was named Interim Athletic Director from September 2022 through February 2023, a period in which she demonstrated exemplary leadership, further solidifying her commitment to the University.
Paone initially joined Walsh in 2011 as Head Coach for women’s Golf and later became Head Coach for men’s Golf, overseeing the success and growth of both programs. Under her leadership, the women’s Golf program made its first-ever team appearance at the NCAA Regional Championships in 2023, while the men’s program also earned an individual NCAA Super Regional appearance the same year. The program’s success continued into the 2024 season with 2 individual NCAA Regional qualifiers from the men’s and women’s programs.
In addition to her leadership role, Paone has been active within the broader athletics community, having served on the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee for men’s Golf and overseeing the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) on campus. Paone currently serves on the NCAA DII Championships Committee, the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee for women’s Golf and the Branding Committee for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. She is also a Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics.
Paone earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Walsh University, where she played on the institution’s first intercollegiate golf team, which competed in the NAIA National Championships.
