Dr. Jacobs teaches undergraduate courses in Intervention Specialist Education, P-5 Elementary Education and P-5 Elementary/ Intervention Specialists Dual Program as well courses for the On-line Master of Arts in Education Program. He has taught or is currently teaching ISE 342 (Assessment in Intervention Planning), ISE243 (Positive Learning Environments), and EDUC 450 (Pre-Clinical Practice), ISE245 (Family, Schools, and Community), EDUC 206 (Individuals with Exceptionalities), ISE 348 (Language Arts and Social Studies Methods for Students with Special Needs), ISE 349 (Math and Science Methods for Students with Special Needs), ISE 345 (Transition), EDF 606 (Accommodating Learners with Special Needs), and EDT 670 (Positive Strategies in Discipline), EDF 601 (Educational Psychology), and EDF 705 (Pupil Services). He advises students in the Graduate program as well as undergraduates in P-5 Elementary Education and P-5 Elementary/ Intervention Specialists Dual Program and Serves as the LEAD (Licensure in Education for Adults with Degrees) Advisor for P-5, P-5IS Dual, and ISE K-12 Programs.
Dr. Jacobs’s research interests include intervention strategies for children with learning disabilities and behavior disorders, as well as classroom management strategies. He has presented/published at various regional, state, and international conferences. Dr. Jacobs most recently presented with Drs. Johnson-Whitt and Green in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Jacobs is an active member of campus committees including: the Graduate Council (Past Chair); Instruction and Academic Policy; Retention, Tenure and Promotion; Faculty Forum, Freshman Orientation, and Graduate Culture. Within the Division of Education, Dr. Jacobs serves as CAEP Coordinator for Accreditation. He has also served or serves the Division as the Vice-Chair and Graduate Director and was a member of the ACE Committee, Budget Committee, and various searches. Dr. Jacobs established and serves as Advisor for the Walsh University Council for Exceptional Children. Dr. Jacobs also served as the evaluator for Canton City School 21st Century Brighter Tomorrows After School Program grants. He has also provided professional development trainings for area schools. His volunteering has included team-building training at local elementary schools, as well as work in local churches. Dr. Jacobs also serves at the state level as Secretary of the Ohio Association of Private Colleges for Teacher Education (OAPCTE) and is also on the OCTEO planning committee.
