Jami Swain was appointed Vice President for Human Resources at Walsh University on January 3, 2025. In this role, she oversees the University’s human resources strategy, culture, organizational development, talent acquisition, and employee relations. Swain is dedicated to fostering a positive workplace culture while supporting Walsh’s mission to empower individuals and promote community engagement. She collaborates with leadership across departments to ensure Walsh attracts, develops, and retains top talent.

As Vice President, Swain plays a vital role in advancing the Walsh 4.0 strategy, contributing to the University’s growth and continued success by aligning human resources efforts with institutional goals. She oversees employee benefits, compensation, compliance with labor laws, and performance management programs.

Swain joined Walsh University in 2023 as Director of Human Resources and Culture. Prior to her appointment at Walsh, she held senior human resources roles at The City Mission in Cleveland and Stark Community Foundation, where she developed and led strategies that supported organizational growth and community impact.

An advocate for professional development, Swain has launched multiple training programs focused on employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. She has been instrumental in fostering a culture of inclusivity and collaboration at Walsh University.

Swain is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where she is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and a member at both the national and local levels, including the Stark County Human Resource Association (SCHRA). She is also a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).

Swain earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management (Human Resources) from Walsh University and her Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources from Cleveland State University.
