Teaching

Dr. Roush teaches undergraduate courses in P-5 Elementary Education as well as online courses for the Masters of Education Program.  She has taught or is currently teaching EDUC 351 Methods of Teaching Developmental Literacy,  EDUC 313 P-5 Elementary Education -Language Arts and Social Studies, EDUC 315 P-5 Elementary Education- Math and Science, EDUC 264 Education Psychology, EDUC 320 Assessment and Instructional Planning, EDUC 450 Preclinical- Profession in Practice, EDUC 468 Clinical Seminar, EDT 614 Instructional Leadership,  EDT 710 Assessing Student Performance, EDF 709 School Finance, and is also the Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) accreditation coordinator. Dr. Roush also advises students in the undergraduate program in the areas of P-5 Elementary Education and P-5 Dual Intervention. 

Service

Dr. Roush is an active member on campus by serving on the Technology Committee and is the advisor for the Walsh University Education Club and advisor for P-5 education majors. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Northern Ohio International Dyslexia Association.  

Scholarship

Dr. Roush has interests in the Science of Reading and has received multiple grants through Ohio Dean’s Compact to support the Science of Reading at Walsh University. With funding from these grants, a Science of Reading Library was created with a variety of resources for Walsh teacher candidates to utilize when working with elementary students in the field. She also received funding in 2023 to create a Math Library for teacher candidates to use as well. Dr. Roush has recently presented at the Ohio Deans Compact Annual conference along with student teacher Katelyn Moore where they shared information regarding the importance of writing in the elementary classroom.
