Dr. Melisa Barden joined the Walsh faculty in August 2010. Born and raised outside of Buffalo, NY, she attended Niagara University where she earned her BA in Psychology with minors in Mathematics and Sociology in 2005. She yearned for a break from the intense Buffalo winters, so she moved down to the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) for graduate school. It was there that she realized she had a passion for teaching. She taught a variety of courses at UTA and at some local community colleges while working on her doctorate. She earned her MS in Psychology in 2008 and her PhD in Experimental Psychology in 2010. Since joining the Cav Nation in 2010, she commonly teaches Human Development, Social Psychology, Advanced Principles of Psychology, Experimental Psychology, and the Senior Research capstone classes. She loves sharing her passion for research with students and taking them to conferences to present research. On a personal note, she spends most of her free time chasing after her two small children with her husband.
