Walsh Alum Shares Inspiring Story on becoming a Neurosurgeon

Walsh alumnus Dr. Aaron Palmer '11 was recently featured on CBS This Morning and locally in the Akron Beacon Journal for his inspiring story on overcoming challenges to become a Neurosurgeon. Dr. Palmer took the time to visit his Alma Mater on Sunday, August 23, to meet with Walsh freshmen during the annual MOSAIC Multicultural Student Orientation dinner. The office of Multicultural Affairs proudly hosts MOSAIC, a program designed to support incoming multicultural students during their transition at Walsh University.

Dr. Palmer is in his fourth year of a seven-year residency program for those training to be neurosurgeons at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Palmer's journey started in Akron, where he grew up in a struggling neighborhood on the east side. He credits his former Walsh professor and Director of Human Anatomy Dr. Ann Caplea for helping him to achieve his dreams.
