Walsh University Launches New Master of Science in Exercise Physiology Program

Walsh University is delighted to announce the launch of a new online Master of Science in Exercise Physiology, adding to its distinguished portfolio of graduate programs. This innovative program, designed for individuals seeking to advance their careers as managers or entrepreneurs in the health and fitness industry, is open to anyone with a bachelor’s degree. Tailored specifically for working adults, the online master’s program can be completed in approximately two years.

With a curriculum blending exercise science and business courses, the Master of Science in Exercise Physiology is ideal for careers as health and fitness club managers, personal training coordinators, strength and conditioning professionals, exercise physiologists, and in fields related to product research and development or physical fitness. By integrating scientific knowledge with business acumen, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue fulfilling careers in various settings, such as research and development, fitness entrepreneurship, and sports performance. They will positively impact the health and well-being of the individuals they serve.

“We are excited to introduce the online Master of Science in Exercise Physiology program to the community as a natural extension of our growing exercise science and related undergraduate programs,” said Dr. Kelsey Scanlon, Program Chair in Walsh University’s School of Behavioral and Health Sciences. “This program adds to our already strong collection of health sciences-related graduate programs, and I’m delighted to help continue to advance the university in this critical field.”

Walsh University currently offers a Master of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Healthcare Management MBA, and master’s and doctoral-level nursing programs, all of which have seen steady growth.

“This program is perfectly aligned with Walsh University’s 4.0 strategic plan and our Catholic mission, as it reflects our commitment to holistic education and the development of leaders who are dedicated to service and the betterment of society,” said Dr. Judy Kreye, Dean of the School of Behavioral and Health Sciences and Byers School of Nursing. “The addition of this program is another testament to Walsh’s desire to improve the quality of life for others by fostering compassionate, well-rounded healthcare professionals in a cross-functional way that incorporates business skills, making them highly competitive in the marketplace.”

Walsh University is enrolling now, with the first cohort of students starting in January. There is no fee to apply; however, a GPA of 2.75 from an accredited undergraduate institution is required. For more information or to apply, visit www.walsh.edu/exphys.
