Admissions Requirements

  • Must be age 21 or older (Interested students under age 21, please inquire about the appeal process.)
  • Transfer 12 or more credit hours from a regionally accredited school (ask if you will be transferring less)
  • 2.0 GPA or higher overall
  • 2.75 GPA in pre-requisite coursework (listed below)
  • Applicants will be reviewed by the Byers School of Nursing Admissions Committee

  • Review Degree Plan, Financial Aid and Enroll!

PORTFOLIO

Credit may be earned by constructing a portfolio of essays demonstrating knowledge from life/work experience equivalent to that gained from a college course.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Credit may be earned for training completed through your employer, professional organization, or military experience.

NURS 220 Theoretical Foundations for Nursing Practice - 3 credit hours

*All pre-requisite courses are available in a hybrid, accelerated format (8-weeks) at the program reduced tuition cost rate. Please check with your Enrollment Manager prior to registering for a course at another institution to ensure it is equivalent to the prerequisite course at Walsh. If you choose to take the prerequisites at a local community college, your grade in the courses must be a C or higher. If you choose to take the prerequisites at another institution, your grade must be a C- or higher in order to transfer in as credit. All science courses must have been completed within the last seven years.

At this time, this program is only approved in Ohio but can pursue approval in an alternative state. Please consult with your program director if you intend to complete this program and apply for licensure outside of Ohio. At that time, the program director will consult the licensing board in an alternative state to confirm requirements.
