Walsh University is proud of its tradition of serving as the educational home for students who are the first in their families to attend college. One of the many ways we serve these students is through the First Gen Cavs Program, an initiative that supports those first-in-family students and creates a path for connection to the campus community and success in the classroom and beyond.
The First Gen Cavs Program offers many benefits, including:
- Designated support from committed faculty, staff, and peer mentors assigned to support you throughout your first and second years of college
- Connecting with fellow first-gen students and the opportunity to build lasting friendships
- Enriching and fun campus programs and activities throughout the year
- Opportunity to serve as a peer mentor and student leader in your junior year
- Your story featured in the Walsh Wire e-publication — sharing your journey with the campus community
