Walsh University is proud of its tradition of serving as the educational home for students who are the first in their families to attend college. One of the many ways we serve these students is through the First Gen Cavs Program, an initiative that supports those first-in-family students and creates a path for connection to the campus community and success in the classroom and beyond.
The First Gen Cavs Program offers many benefits, including:
- Engagement with an assigned faculty or staff mentor and a peer mentor who will provide practical guidance and support in your journey
- Networking with other students in the program and developing friendships that will last a lifetime
- Participation in enriching and fun programs and activities from the first day on campus throughout the entire academic year
- Access to student leadership training and an opportunity to serve as a peer mentor during the sophomore academic year
